Music is Inside Us
We are 2 Italian DJs and producers. Our career began in the 80s, playing Dance-Commercial music in Italy’s best clubs. We started recording in the 90s and our Pop/Dance productions got aired by major national radio stations. We soon realized that to reach the European market we needed a stronger electronic sound and catchy melodies. So we enriched our musical style with EDM sounds and started working on the musical project David&Strauss (from our stage names Roby Strauss and Davide Marka).
DJDavide MarKa
Began his DJ career at the age of 14, inspired by an 80s television show. He bought his first mixer and began spending his afternoons creating megamix and then recording on the legendary audio cassette tapes. He began performing as a DJ at private birthday parties or events for his friends. At the age of 21 he turned to producing electro music and just one year later was time for his breakthrough. During his holidays in Thailand he got the chance to play as a special guest in the island’s most renowned clubs. Back in Italy, his passion for technology led him to buy a powerful sound card and devote himself to creating compilations and audio montages with his PC. Thanks to this innovative technique, after only 1 year of practice he got enrolled by one of the most famous recording studios in Milan as sound engineer. He then got to work with music recording, mixing and editing tracks of different genres such as Electro, Techno, House, Trance, Progressive. Thanks to this close collaboration he also began his career as Dj Producer.
DJRoby Strauss
He discovered his passion for music at the tender age of 8, when he took part in a radio contest. As the radio station was only 300 meters from home, Roby becomes a frequent guest and there comes into contact with analog devices for the first time. At the age of 15 he gained a competition as best DJ at the Geriko disco in Milan, the final prize was to perform every weekend for a year a 15-minute mix. He was then offered a contract as resident DJ for 3 years. At the age of 19 he released his first pop/ dance productions that soon led him to play in the most renowned clubs in Italy. During one of these DjSets he met the Dj Producer Davide Marka, and they decided to start a new Electro House musical project, called David&Strauss.
